One item wonder
This summer season I’m going to put my money where my mouth is, and only purchase one item of clothing… admittedly I do have some great pieces already, but I really wanted to set the challenge to buy less, buy better as I do with my clients - so one great versatile piece it is!
The restraint I will need in while shopping in Melbourne next month will be unheard of. I am slightly worried on this front, it may be shoes that will slip through on the agenda. If I buy carefully and I feel I can create a few different looks out of one item then I should be able to meet the challenge (fingers crossed, and toes…).
Most people I talk with (about clothes and wardrobes) think my wardrobe is vast with ‘fashion’ pieces but the opposite works for me. I spend money on really strong every-day pieces and always makes a conscious effort to look groomed, relaxed and approachable (minimal make-up) while professional when working. My time spent with clients is not about me and what I’m wearing, more about tuning in to what they are saying and listening carefully to their needs. All the while filing through hundreds of mental images of viewed store product and pictures from look books that have passed by my eyes, all busily and cleverly done while we shop. Stay tuned for my one item wonder. No pressure at all…
