Dublin humour and collaboration

·

Dublin nights

Treated with such incredible hospitality, warmth and famously infectious humour! Good god, if the Irish could export that in a bottle they would be onto something… This past week was spent getting up to speed for a team interior presentation. Our mood boards were mini works of art with all ideas shared, worked through, considered and explored. It has been the best like-minded creative collaboration I’ve worked on. Because of this and the frantic pace we created after London, we had plans, finishes and options to present by the end of the week. We got through a heck of a lot in such a small amount of time.
Excitingly the big corporates (Facebook, Google and Airbnb) have set up their HQs in town with more eyeing up the move because of the attractive corporate tax rates. Ireland has the excitement of glossy tech construction with the grounded deep history of its troubled past sitting just nicely side by side with the feeling that so much is possible in the air. Here was where I also had time to shop for my clients’ wardrobe - I immersed myself for a full day to research - the Scandis are here in force H & M, & Other Stories and COS all have that eclectic minimal aesthetic working so well. Brown Thomas had a touch of everything and a great place to get a relatively quick overview of the main brands and new season collections in a lovely manageable space. Meanwhile what I really enjoyed was finding stores supporting local clever artisans who have a wealth of knowledge, skill and experience turning their cleverness into contemporary refined beautiful products.
Dublin I will be back!
